Our mission at Adaptive Staging & Redesign is to first and foremost use and adapt what you already own to create the new look and feel of your space. Here we took a day to "re-do" a bedroom.
My client needed a bedroom redesign. She has an eclectic taste. Her career takes her around the world thus she has collected items from all corners of the globe and we wanted to showcase her many beautiful finds and sentimental pieces.
This room needed some TLC and I’m not speaking to the “stuff” on the bed….more to the lack of a focal point within the room. The furniture in this room was pretty much all the same height making it difficult for the eye to rest anywhere.
This was going to be an easy fix though. All that was needed was a bit of a furniture re shuffle and something to draw the eye to the bed.

| So, I found this substantial artwork that fit very well into my clients Global Eclectic vibe. (I coined this decorating style for my client. Pretty cool, right?) I hung this artwork above the bed with the bottom of it coming level with the top of the tall dresser. The dresser I repositioned to the other side of the bed for better balance within the room. |  |
First, I created a template from brown paper that matched the dimensions of the artwork and attached it to the wall to help me mount the necessary hardware evenly. (Excuse my bum…although some would say my better side! Ha!)
 | The end product is a serene and calming space with a clear focal point to our Global Eclectic style. In a bedroom the focal point is always the bed. We used the clients existing linens and throw pillows to make the bed inviting and sumptuous! |
We added a few more small shelves the client already owned to showcase some of her perfume bottles and her one of a kind art pieces.
With only a very small investment ($60.00 of artwork purchased at Home Goods) and a reshuffle of furniture we made a big impact in this room.
